Over 200 businesses in the village of Greme in Ferizaj will now easily develop their business. This was enabled by KEDS and its investment in the most industrialized village in Kosovo.
Electricity is very important for economic development. Given this, KEDS gives priority to areas where economic activities are more pronounced and directly affect the well-being of citizens. In this regard, the next investment was made in Greme village of Ferizaj, known for many furniture factories.
In the village, KEDS has set up two new transformers with a capacity of 10 (20) /0.4kV of the blind type. One with power S=630kVA, and the other S=400kVA, which have significantly increased the power capacities on this area.
During these works, there were a total of 135 low voltage poles installed, 28 medium voltage poles, 5900m low voltage grid, and 1000m medium voltage grids have been implemented.
In addition to businesses, 275 families of this village have benefited from this investment. Residents said that they were not able to use the electrical equipment during the day. They only used it at night when the tension was a little better. Now everything is different, they said.
Business representatives said that the situation in the village has been very difficult to develop business.
“The tension especially during the day was very poor. The first energy situation has been disastrous. The voltage during the day never exceeded 150 volts. We did work with voltage regulators, but we could not work at full capacity”.
