At KEDS, gender equality is a core value embedded in every aspect of our operations and organizational culture. With an unwavering commitment to creating an inclusive and inspiring environment, we have taken clear and impactful steps to support and empower women both in the workplace and beyond.

Concrete Steps Toward Equality

In 2019, KEDS became the first company in Kosovo to sign the 7 Principles of UN Women, demonstrating our dedication to ensuring gender equality in all aspects of our activities. This commitment is not merely symbolic; it is grounded in tangible actions such as the creation of dedicated lactation rooms for working mothers and the installation of reporting boxes to address discrimination and unfair treatment in the workplace. Furthermore, we have consistently advocated for the empowerment of women in the energy sector through conferences and discussions, fostering awareness and dialogue on the importance of gender equality.

KEDS Academy: Empowering Through Education

KEDS Academy stands as the most powerful example of our dedication to professional development and the empowerment of women in the energy sector. To date, 141 women have graduated from this program, many of whom have been offered employment opportunities. These women are now building Kosovo’s energy future, influencing companies, institutions, and organizations both locally and internationally through their work.

Projects That Inspire Change

Over the years, KEDS has developed numerous projects aimed at empowering women and inspiring young people, particularly girls, to pursue careers in technical and scientific sectors. Girls TECH Initiative has supported dozens of girls from technical schools to pursue careers in IT, offering mentorship, practical training, and employment opportunities for the most successful participants.

We have also supported internships, mentoring, and training for students, providing them with job opportunities. Collaborations with organizations such as MCA ("Women in Energy" project) and Kosovo International Airport ("Global Engineering Women" project) have been crucial in empowering women and girls in technical and scientific fields.

Raising Awareness and Making an Impact

Through impactful campaigns such as Breast Cancer Awareness Month and 16 Days of Activism, KEDS has delivered important awareness messages across Kosovo. By sending bills to 700,000 customers – to every home, every man, woman, girl, and boy – we have conveyed messages that promote awareness and inspire societal change.

Campaigns like "Orange the World" have played a vital role in raising awareness about gender-based violence and initiating dialogue to address societal challenges. Additionally, projects like Art n’Trafo have creatively conveyed messages of equality and empowered women in new and innovative ways.

An Equal Future

At KEDS, we believe that empowering women is not just an ideal but a necessity for building a fairer and more developed society. With every step we take, we are committed to creating a work environment where every woman feels valued, empowered, and inspired to achieve her full potential.

These achievements reflect our efforts to build a future where diversity and inclusion are the pillars of our success. Let us continue this journey together, celebrating progress and breaking barriers for generations to come.
