At the end of December last year, KEDS reduced the losses in the electricity network of Kosovo to 15.32%.

Compared to the same period of 2022, when losses were 16.79%, a decrease of 1.5% was recorded. This reduction in losses is the result of KEDS's uncompromising commitment to fighting the unpleasant phenomenon of misuse of electricity.

KEDS has added field control teams to identify all misusers of electricity, implementing new strategies to further reduce network losses.

In addition, KEDS has undertaken a wide campaign to inform the public about the consequences that can be faced by anyone who tries to misuse electricity.

Through the steps taken in the “Electricity costs you cheaper” campaign, KEDS is committed to helping cultivate a responsible culture towards the use of electricity.

The legal use of electricity costs way cheaper than the damage that a consumer causes to KEDS and that must be returned through "Recovery of Losses" or even fines and prison sentences from the competent courts.

KEDS has carried out nearly 100,000 checks throughout 2023, of which 6,710 were identified as misusers of electricity.

We remind you that misuse of electricity falls within the scope of "Theft of Services", which according to Article 314 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo is punishable by a fine and up to three years in prison.
